LA’s a city with illustrious sights & enriching experiences. Our app is designed to promote the best choices & teach tourists about the rich histories throughout LA County. People can rate, save & share their experiences with future travelers to navigate the city with ease.

LA’s freeways are like veins that run throughout the city with a mix of modern & art deco architecture creating an eclectic & beautiful skyline. These slides show the key points of the branding process; brainstorming names, font selection, color palette & logo development. The final logo has a GPS icon with an abstract font relaying roads & the color green is reminiscent of the leaves on a sunlit palm tree.

The app will access a user's camera & GPS settings upon set-up. Scanning the QR code will open maps, track your location & preview nightlife & family events in the area. The intuitive design has limited functionality because we want users to immerse into the environments rather than toggling between screens. This geo-based app is perfect for tracking places you’d like to revisit.

Each location has a unique design highlighting history in the area: The Wizard of Oz was filmed in Culver City. I incorporated the Emerald City into 5’x5’ circular installations; the GIF shows the photoshop process to frame & mask the original image. I also replaced the GPS icon with a unique QR code & used emerald & teal to tie it back to the location's artwork.
